Is the year ruined? There might be a Yes or a No, depending on peoples’ thoughts. Talking through my point of view, I guess I’m in between; like a 50:50.
When the pandemic started, suddenly every public place like school, colleges, cinema halls, offices, malls were given an order to shut down. Every individual was told to stay at home; not the medical staff though. The first few weeks felt good to not have anything to worry about, no study and fun all day at home. As the days passed by, getting to realize that distancing from your favorite people wasn’t something you could do, you get anxious at the same home you were happy at a few days ago. Your anger rises, you don’t feel good anymore. Everything around you makes you feel irritated, even your family member.
Also, if taken positively, there’s a lot of time for yourself that you can spend doing anything and everything you like to. No pressure from anybody, it’s just you and you. A perfect time to work on yourself; be it toning your body or sleeping the entire time or learning to cook. The happiest people during the social distancing might be the introverts, as they wouldn’t like to face people or be sociable, anyway.
Not forgetting the people who cannot afford to eat every day without working every day. This is the worst time they could ever face. No work means no money, which eventually meant no food. What could be worse than that? Looking at the condition of those people feels like hunger would kill them before the COVID-19.
Further, other people wouldn’t get any holidays and have to work every single day. For them, this is a great opportunity to spend time with their family and with themselves. They just got rid of their monotonous life.
There are millions of people losing their job because of the COVID-19. After the pandemic is over, the rate of unemployment is going to rise higher. Also that, many entrepreneurs are in debt. Maybe there were a few who had just invested all their money and because of the shut-down, they’re in a loss now.
People have faced the good and the bad of this pandemic according to their situation. So, it’s their individual opinion to take it positively or negatively. Hopefully, everything is going to be okay soon and everybody is going to get rid of the COVID-19.
